Widespread airspace closures across the region have forced airlines to suspend operations or reroute through longer corridors. Ocean transits through the Strait of Hormuz have also halted, compounding ongoing Red Sea instability.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:heading --><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"x_elementToProof\"><b>What this means for shippers:<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul data-editing-info=\"{&quot;applyListStyleFromLevel&quot;:true}\">\n<li>\n<div class=\"x_elementToProof\" role=\"presentation\">Flight cancellations, suspensions, and booking restrictions\u00a0are limiting capacity availability<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div class=\"x_elementToProof\" role=\"presentation\">Longer flight routings and added fuel are impacting cargo payload limiting capacity availability and risking reliability of confirmed shipments being offloaded<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div class=\"x_elementToProof\" role=\"presentation\">Major hubs are experiencing operational challenges from backlogged freight causing extended transit times and increased exposure to the elements in transit<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div class=\"x_elementToProof\" role=\"presentation\">Global air freight rates are rising as cargo is being rerouted shifting demand to other gateways and tightening capacity across other regions.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div class=\"x_elementToProof\" role=\"presentation\">Ocean vessels are also impacted as they are being forced to reroute around the restricted areas tightening capacity and extending transit times<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div class=\"x_elementToProof\" role=\"presentation\">Global ocean freight rate and surcharge volatility is expected.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"x_elementToProof\">Rates, transit times and routings will be impacted.
